Space saving tips for one room?
I'm staying with my mother during these first couple years of high school and there simply is not enough room in the second bedroom. Does anyone have some tips on the arrangement of furniture that could give a sense of spaciousness? I'm working on an extremely limited budget, so please keep that in mind . . .
I have a computer desk to work with that fits into any given corner of the room. I have a writing desk that I've tried moving into the closet for space. My books are on a shelf in my closet and my music/videos/games are on my computer desk. I have two chairs; a computer chair and one that is a bit more comfortable for the writing desk. My bed is a full.
Any suggestions on arrangement that might give me more room?
PS. I'm thinking about getting rid of my bed frame to free up room? Does that serve any purpose other than aesthetics? Can anyone foresee any problems with placing the box spring directly on the floor?
Thanks in advanced.
You could get some bed risers like:

If your comforter or blanket is long enough, you won't be able to see them. You can store a lot of stuff under your bed. We have seasonal clothes under our bed and I rotate them when we need the winter clothes, etc. I've also stored momentos and things I don't need on a regular basis under my bed.
Is it possible to consolidate to one desk and one chair? That could free up some room as well. Could the computer go in a different room, or do you use it enough that you need to keep it in your bedroom?
You might want to get a bookshelf for your games, books, etc. They can be fairly inexpensive.
Also, get rid of stuff you don't want or need- old toys you've outgrown, clothes that don't fit, etc. You could have a garage sale, donate them, etc.
Good luck!
