Desktop subwoofer question?
I would like to get a subwoofer for my desktop computer, nothing big though. I wanted to know how exactly they hook up, the price range for a cheap one (not with bad sound quality), and where to put it (and maybe also settings if you even have to worry about that.)
As far as placement, Im not sure how it affects it, but could I put it beside my computer? Would that be a bad idea? Someone told me to put it in the floor under the desk, other people said corners but I dont have my computer by a corner.
Any suggestions?
Input of powered speakers (including those w/ subs) connect to the same jack (Green) on PC where you connect the headphone. However, in surround sound mode, say, a 6 channel set up, the mic (pink) jack becomes the connector for bass/center channel.
Subwoofer should be placed in such a location that its strong vibration does not affect the PC's hard drive. HDD is quite sensitive to vibration.
