Avast verses AVG Antivirus Professional?
I know, I know, this has been asked millions of times already but I'm asking again.
My backup computer was attacked by a virus that made my windows disappear except for desk top background this weekend and I had to wipe my hard drive and re-install Windows XP.
I need a good antivirus system. Don't care if I have to by it. I had McAfee, but it let it through.
I got it narrowed to Avast verses AVG Antivirus Professional.
Which is better? I want something that is multi-functional and download and "forget".
Thanks again.
Avast has been the only one that catches things for me consistently and a lot of my friends have avast and I've used AVG to and I don't think I got as good of results as I did with Avast. Avast has an on access scanner and automatic updates. I use the free version to and obviously the paid version is probably better than the free version.
Avast also scans for spyware, adware, malware, rootkits, and a lot more unlike AVG. I would still get a spyware program if you don't have one because the avast software might not scan for spyware and all of that as good as an Anti-Spyware program.
You can download it from http://avast.com/
Good Luck
