Is an accent wall a good idea in a tiny room?

I'm splitting a 12x15 room, so I'll have 10x7.5 square feet. One 'wall' will be a white shoji screen. The other wall has a big window. The back wall is empty, and the other side of the room will either have a curtain or open on to a white wall.

All my stuff is going to be gray, black, and brown, with darkish wood floors.

My loft bed is going to be against the shortest far wall. If the room will usually be well lit, and the other walls will be white, could I put an accent color on the wall with my loft bed without it looking overwhelming? I'll also have my computer desk under there, and possibly a keyboard for my musical futzing.

If an accent wall is okay, is dark blue okay? If not, what's a good color?

If I can't do an accent wall, I'm just going to go for white.
I'm on the side away from the door.

Please do not do white - white and bright colors jump forward and will shrink your room. A darker color will recede.

I am trying to picture your room and with your description I think that the shoji wall will be an accent wall. Consider a reverse accent wall approach. I am thinking that two continuous walls should be painted in the darker color. I do not know your door placement, but I would first suggest that the darker paint be used on the two walls that either meet at or radiate from the corner further from the entrance door. This should give your room added depth and dimension.
